Scoff an easter egg and move your business forward…

My apologies for the radio silence over the last few weeks…

Some of you may know that I have had a nasty chest infection following one of the plethora of bugs that seem to be floating around at the moment. Frankly, I have probably lost the best part of a month in the business and as I sit at my desk for the first time in ages there is a mountain of work to be done.

The number of emails in the inbox is daunting.

Even the junk email box is creaking…!

Where to start?

Over the weekend my wife Anny has repeatedly reminded me to take things gradually and build up daily or risk returning to square one. The trouble is I am naturally an impatient soul so taking things easy isn’t something I always do.

However, over the Easter weekend, I did something amazing.

I staggered myself.

You see I am renowned on Easter Sunday for scoffing all the Easter eggs I have received until I feel sick. It’s a tradition started many years ago and I am not ashamed to say one my family has understood (albeit not necessarily admired) for many years.

But surprise, surprise I only ate one whole egg! In fact, I even took my time scoffing it and in fact, doing exactly what Anny told me to do by taking and savoring just one bite at a time.

What’s the point, Peter?

There are times in our business we can feel totally overloaded.

The email box is past bonkers, the list of jobs ridiculous, and frankly having a total lack of understanding as to where we should start.

Can I suggest you take a moment, put on some relaxing music (Mark Knopfler is currently playing on Spotify on my smart speaker), and scoff an easter egg quietly?

Think during each bite what you need to do.

Then quietly get down to it.

No matter how good you are there are only so many hours in the day. So, breathe, eat an easter egg (or whatever works for you!), and tackle the job at hand in a relaxed state.

It will be better for you, your blood pressure will be lower, and you will be surprised how much you will achieve…

Mind you your cholesterol might take a hit…

Now where is that next easter egg… ;)

Just sayin’.
